The Association for Psychological Science Announces New “Rising Stars” of Psychology

Dr. Dana Carney and Dr. Phillip Atiba Goff were recently recognized as exemplars of their field, leading the way in groundbreaking psychological research.  The distinguished title of “rising star” is given to a select group of researchers who not only advance the field of research but also lead the way in mentoring younger generations.  Dr. Carney, assistant professor of business at Columbia University, was named for her research in the incredible power of ordinary, nonverbal cues.  Dr. Goff, assistant professor of psychology at UCLA and executive director of research for the Consortium for Police Leadership in Equity, was recognized for his unprecedented work examining the intersection of race and gender in law enforcement.
