Review to Help Colorado Springs Police Determine If They Have Trust Issues with Citizens

Months before a young black man, Michael Brown, was shot and killed by a white police officer in Ferguson, Mo., the Colorado Springs Police Department had agreed to take part in a comprehensive review of its policies and procedures. The Center for Policing Equity, based at the University of California, Los Angeles, will review Colorado Springs police and dozens of other departments around the country to determine whether they engage in racial bias-based policing.
