Center for Policing Equity on the Shooting of Three Houston Officers

January 27, 2022

Center for Policing Equity -

New Haven, CT - On Thursday, three Houston Police Department (HPD) officers were shot near downtown Houston, Texas. Thankfully, the officers suffered non-life-threatening injuries and are in stable condition.

We keep the three officers, their loved ones, and the community of Houston in our thoughts and hope they are able to make a full recovery. This is the third shooting of multiple police officers in the United States in less than a week. And while the national media might not cover all of these shootings, neighborhoods feel each violent incident that happens in their communities.

We at CPE remain committed to creating a public safety model that produces safer communities for everyone, and will continue to work tirelessly with our partners on that essential endeavor.
