The mayor of Jackson wants to hold its police accountable. Easier said than done.

George Robinson, 62, pulled up to the house where he had been renting a room in the Washington Addition neighborhood of Jackson, Mississippi.

That morning, the second Sunday of 2019, a preacher had been shot and killed while opening the doors of his church just a two-minute walk from where Robinson lived part-time, and police were scouring the neighborhood for suspects.
