Hilary Rau

Center for Policing Equity

 Hilary Rau is the Policy Director of the Data Driven Interventions team at Center for Policing Equity. Prior to joining CPE, Hilary was a staff attorney at the Center for WorkLife Law at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, where her work focused on developing evidence-based, practical resources to promote gender and racial equity in the workplace and in higher education. Prior to that, Hilary worked as a civil rights attorney in private practice, where she specialized in cases involving allegations of police misconduct and employment discrimination. She was named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers Magazine in 2016 and 2017. She also served as a law clerk for the Los Angeles County Office of Independent Review, the civilian entity then responsible for overseeing the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.

Hilary’s work has been published in Harvard Business Review, The Huffington Post, and Advocate Magazine. Hilary received her J.D. from the University of California—Los Angeles School of Law and her B.A. in English and Linguistics from Pomona College.
