Today, the Center for Policing Equity released the following statement on the confirmation of Vanita Gupta as Associate Attorney General of the United States:
We want to send a heartfelt congratulations to Vanita Gupta, who has been confirmed as the next Associate Attorney General of the United States. She is one of the most respected civil rights attorneys of our generation and a tireless champion for justice, bringing decades of experience to the job. We look forward to working closely with her in the months and years to come.
We also encourage the swift confirmation of Kristen Clarke as the Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. Their work together will lead to the restoration of integrity of a fully functioning U.S. Department of Justice. The Center for Policing Equity looks forward to working with both of them, and will offer the whole of our resources every step of the way.
