Niles R. Wilson

Niles comes to The Center for Policing Equity (CPE) after completing a 27-year law enforcement career with the Newark, NJ Police Department.  During his law enforcement career, Niles held several command rank positions, including Deputy Police Director from 2007 to 2011. His experiences include command leadership in multiple areas of law enforcement, including Training, Internal Investigations, Criminal Investigations, Patrol, Community Policing, Public Information, Management and Administration.  

Niles completed his undergraduate studies at Kean University, and is currently completing his graduate studies at Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey. Niles also completed training with the FBI National Academy, the FBI LEEDA, and the Penn State Executive Development training (POLEX) program, among others.  

In addition to his law enforcement experience, Niles brings his experience as a leader in the Faith Community through his 25 years of service as a Senior Pastor of a congregation in New Jersey, where he worked with political and community partners to provide services and opportunities for the social and economic advancement of members of the community and his congregation.
