Julie Macht

Julie Macht is the Senior Development Director at the Center for Policing Equity where she leads a team of fundraising professionals, data managers, grant writers and communication specialists in an effort to connect meaningfully with supporters. After graduating from UC Berkeley, she focused on criminal justice reform at the Vera Institute of Justice and realized that change in the public safety space, while incremental, could be substantial and profound. She graduated from Cardozo Law School and began working with law enforcement to help socially and economically vulnerable people navigate the Bronx criminal court system. These early experiences as an Assistant District Attorney shaped the way she approached her career over the next 30 years, always balancing big picture policy work with on-the-ground people work. Whether she was providing guidance to young social justice activists, helping new parents get the mental health services they needed to nurture strong families, or protesting and advocating for inclusion, tolerance, and diversity, her life experience drew her to the fight for social justice. She is excited to apply her skills and experience to CPE to move their equity work forward.
