Emma Decker

Emma Decker was born and raised in Skokie, Illinois. She joined the Center for Policing Equity (CPE) in 2020, and is a Community Engagement Specialist. She works to bridge communities and uplift Black and Brown voices by listening and providing resources tailored to each community to transform public safety.
Emma received her Bachelor of Arts in Gender and Women’s Studies with a minor in Sociology from the University of Denver. Her research experience includes themes of representation and intersection of race and gender in media. Her background is in intersectional identity work, gender and sexuality, early childhood learning, higher education, and community organizing around racial justice and sexual assault awareness.
Emma's passion for service has led her to work with organizations like the Jewish Council on Urban Affairs to combat racism, and fight for immigration reform in Chicago. In her free time she enjoys exploring, reading, experiencing art, and spending time with her family and friends.
