Mawia Khogali

Research Associate

Mawia Khogali holds a Ph.D. in Psychology and Law from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Her dissertation examined the role of civilian race in police officers’ perceptions of resistance and disrespect and judgments about use of force. She was previously a research associate in the policing program at the Vera Institute of Justice, where she contributed to a variety of projects aimed shifting the national policing discourse, reimagining police management, and improving police-community relations in historically marginalized communities.
