Chelsea Davis, MPH

Chief of Staff

Chelsea Davis joins the Center for Policing Equity as Chief of Staff, managing the Office of the CEO. She brings over 10 years of criminal justice reform and leadership experience from government, academia, and nonprofits.

Chelsea comes to CPE after most recently serving in the NYC Mayor’s Office as the Chief Strategy Officer and previous criminal justice policy advisor to the First Deputy Mayor, and formerly the Director of Health Initiatives for Close Rikers at the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice. Her portfolio on the First Deputy Mayor’s Team has covered criminal justice reform, drug policy, public health, housing, immigration, and COVID response. She has overseen and supported research and programs related to mental health, substance use and drug policy, and police reform at the Vera Institute of Justice, Columbia University, and the Bard Prison Initiative. Chelsea has a Masters Degree in Public Health from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health and a Bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University. She lives in Brooklyn, NY.
