Mckenna Kohlenberg, JD, MS-ELPA

Mckenna Kohlenberg is a Policy Associate at the Center for Policing Equity. Prior to joining CPE, Mckenna advocated for children in special education matters and school discipline proceedings and defended children in delinquency cases with the Wisconsin State Public Defender’s Office. Before that, Mckenna represented indigent people in prison seeking compassionate release and other postconviction relief with the University of Wisconsin Law School’s Frank J. Remington Center. She has worked on criminal justice reform and police accountability at the local level with Chicago Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights and Business and Professional People for the Public Interest (BPI).

Mckenna has a JD and Criminal Law Certificate from the University of Wisconsin Law School, where she received the Davis Award in Constitutional Law. She also has an MS in Educational Leadership & Policy Analysis from the University of Wisconsin School of Education.
