Scarlet Neath, MPP

Scarlet Neath is the Lead Writer for the Data-Driven Interventions (DDI) team at the Center for Policing Equity (CPE). In this role, Scarlet produces content related to CPE's National Justice Database (NJD), drawing on her experience in writing about research and policy to advance social justice.

Prior to joining CPE, Scarlet wrote policy briefs and provided technical assistance for a network of newly-elected district attorneys at Fair and Just Prosecution. She has also worked in the communications department of the Vera Institute of Justice, where she managed media relations. In these roles, she authored publications on a range of topics, with a focus on justice system responses to the opioid crisis. Before working in criminal justice reform, Scarlet began her career in book publishing.

Scarlet holds a BA from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Public Policy with distinction from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. A native of Houston, she now lives in Brooklyn.
