Shari Laldee Johnson, MSOD

Shari Laldee Johnson, MSOD brings prominent development leadership experience from nationally recognized organizations such as UNCF (United Negro College Fund), Children’s National Medical Center, Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, and The SEED School. She has been distinguished for her unwavering commitment to unlocking the full potential of organizations and underserved communities through philanthropic partnerships.

Since 2014, Shari has held various leadership roles at UNCF, the largest education non-profit organization serving minority students in the United States. During her tenure at UNCF, she demonstrated strong ability to develop and execute strategies to effectively manage and expand relationships with corporate and foundation donors, ranging from five to eight figures. Shari’s success led to her appointment as lead strategist and advisor to senior executives, charged with transforming UNCF’s business strategy and direction to achieve and sustain exceptional fundraising results in the midst of a constantly evolving fundraising landscape.

Prior to joining UNCF, Shari served in various fundraising leadership roles with emphasis on annual giving, major gifts, special events, corporate and foundation relations, board engagement, and donor relations. Additionally, Shari was an adjunct faculty member at American University for three years. Shari earned a B.A. in Communication from the University of Maryland, College Park and a M.S. in Organization Development from American University. She also earned a Certificate in Fundraising Management from Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, a Certificate in Raiser’s Edge Essentials, and a Certificate in Board Education from BoardSource.
