Charles Thompson III

Charles Thompson III is Executive Vice President of External Affairs at the Center for Policing Equity (CPE), where he leads enterprise fundraising, marketing, and communications. He brings more than 35 years of experience spanning both nonprofit and corporate sectors.

Before joining CPE, Charles served as Chief Advancement Officer at Communities In Schools (CIS), directing national development, marketing, and communications. He
previously held similar senior leadership roles with the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) and the United Negro College Fund (UNCF), guiding national fundraising and brand communications.

Earlier in his career, Charles was principal of a boutique marketing and design agency, and before that, he spent 15 years as a marketing executive at AT&T. He holds a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from Quinnipiac University, an executive certificate in Advanced Management from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, and a bachelor’s degree in Marketing Management.
