R. Nicole Johnson-Ahorlu, Ph.D.

Project Director, Education and Juvenile Justice Research

R. Nicole Johnson-Ahorlu grew up in San Diego and has lived in Los Angeles since 1996.  She holds an M.A. in African Studies and a Ph.D. in Education from UCLA.  Before joining CPE, Nicole worked as a consultant, supporting the research and professional development efforts of education institutions and non-profit organizations.  She has also managed large-scale research projects at both the Higher Education Research Institute (HERI) and the University of California All Campus Consortium for Research on Diversity (UC ACCORD). Her own academic work focuses on campus climate, stereotype threat, as well as education policy.
